Letter from the Principal

I could not be more proud to serve as the principal of Baucom Elementary School. I served as the assistant principal at Baucom for three years and then transitioned to the principal role in 2021. Baucom is also my family’s community school. In fact, my daughter is an Aviator and my son will join us this coming year.

Baucom truly is a tight knit, community school with a tradition of excellence that dates back over 59 years. The way that we are able to continue the tradition of excellence is through tremendous parent support, and by recruiting and retaining the best faculty and staff around. As the Baucom Aviators, we are committed to our four Cardinal Directions:

  • Delivering Rigorous, Engaging, & Data-Driven Instruction
  • Designing Questions & Tasks within PLCs that Advance Student Learning
  • Existing Always in a Growth Mindset for Ourselves and our Students
  • Embracing the Power of Positive Relationships and Inclusivity

To go along with decades of tradition, Baucom Elementary School is an inclusive school, focused on the current and future success of each of its students.  Through engaging lessons in the classroom, targeted intervention or acceleration, a variety of learning opportunities, and a commitment to the social and emotional well-being of each child, our Aviators are able to grow and develop their talents within a safe environment.  With our active families and community partners joining forces with our exceptional faculty, we represent the model of what one pictures when he or she thinks of a school of excellence.

Growing your son or daughter toward career and college readiness, while allowing them to explore the world around them, is an expectation here at Baucom and our annual school report card data bears witness to how well we do with this goal.

I understand, as a parent myself, how scary it can be to send your child to school and place your trust in all of us.  We take our responsibility seriously and will provide the very best school environment and experience that you will find.  It’s just what we do here at Baucom.

We offer tours of our school for families who are interested in learning more about Baucom. I invite you to call us to register for one, so we can show off the experience we provide our most precious resource, our children.  Thank you and best wishes!
