Just click on the country on the world map, selection a region, or click on a Christmas symbol to learn more about its history and get going!

Find out what Chanukah is, get craft ideas, clip art, online games, word searches, mazes, coloring pages, and more.

Get fun information about traditions and celebrations from several countries around the world at Kids Domain Christmas Around the World.

Here’s a fun site! The Official Web Site of Santa Claus  allows you to download Christmas music, find out a little about Christmas traditions around the world, write Santa (he wants to know if you’ve been naughty or nice or just don’t want to incriminate yourself J , get some recipes, play Christmas Trivia, and you’ve got to read "The Physics of Santa" (a lot to think about.)

Get involved in learning about the winter holidays and share goodwill with others (and incorporate telecommunications skills). Scholastic is sponsoring the "Welcome to the Global Goodwill Holiday Project!" You will connect with students in another country to share and compare your holiday traditions, then write a goodwill message and add it to the Global Goodwill Holiday Gift Box. Your Gift Box message will be opened and read by students around the world. For specific directions, go to the above link. 

Teachers

K, 1st, and 2nd graders, Scholastic has a wonderful holiday unit that explores Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanzaa with many activities, a cute play (with food and great extension activities), and crafts.

Have students write about how they celebrate the winter holidays in their family. What special traditions do they have? Let them share with everyone else. Maybe they’ll get a wonderful idea to take home and try with their family this year to make it extra special.
